The school was founded in 1973, formerly Chongqing Children's School of PetroChina Sichuan Petroleum Administration Bureau. In October 2004, the school was handed over to the Education Commission of Yubei District, Chongqing, becoming a public school directly under the Education Commission of Yubei District, Chongqing, and was officially renamed Yukai School of Yubei District, Chongqing.
The school is located in Songshi Road Community, Longshan Street, Yubei District, covering an area of about 30 mu.
