On the morning of September 7, a school wide English teachers' meeting organized by the Center for Foreign Exchange and Cooperation of Chongqing Nanping Middle School was held in the first conference room of Chongqing Nanping Middle School. The meeting was chaired by Assistant Cao Jing and Deputy Director Li Li of the Center for Foreign Exchange and Cooperation.
The meeting was divided into two parts:
First of all, Director Li elaborated on the tasks of the international characteristic development of Chongqing Nanping Middle School in the first semester of the 2017-2018 academic year. She pointed out that one of the key tasks of Chongqing Nanping Middle School this semester is to actively promote the construction of typical English featured courses. In the summer, with the support and help of the Center for Foreign Exchange and Cooperation, each lesson preparation group set up a WeChat group and invited Mr. Wu Tian from the research group to join. All lesson preparation groups gave play to their collective wisdom, actively discussed through WeChat group, and submitted lesson preparation materials for two classes. Wu Tian, an expert of the research group, read carefully and put forward sincere guidance, which greatly benefited the teachers. This semester will continue to use this method, so that model lesson preparation can be implemented in the weekly teaching and research activities. In terms of material collection, teachers will regularly collect and sort out learning plans, teaching plans, courseware and students' exercises. Classroom activity videos and student reading audio should also be collected as model data to build student growth files. At the same time, this semester will also carry out a series of activities around Model English, such as
"Nanzhong Cup" model story writing contest, reading contest and textbook play performance.
In addition, Director Li also explained the tasks of creating a cultural atmosphere for campus English, speaking clubs, English teacher training, teacher salons, etc.
Finally, Assistant Cao Jing summarized the meeting. She analyzed the important position of model English in English teaching in Chongqing Nanping Middle School and the role of model in improving students' comprehensive English ability. She asked teachers to prepare lessons carefully and pay attention to the collection of model materials. At the same time, Assistant Cao emphasized the importance of teacher training with his own experience, and proposed that only by constantly improving himself can we better carry out teaching.
