Chongqing No. 29 Middle School is one of the first batch of joint enrollment schools in Chongqing, a municipal key middle school, and a national experimental school of modern educational technology. The school was founded in 1907. Its predecessor is Baxian Middle School and the Second Women's Normal School in Sichuan Province. Revolutionary predecessors Zhang Wentian and Xiao Chunv once taught here. Comrade Deng Xiaoping stayed in France to study at the Chongqing Work Study Preparatory School in France.
