Chongqing No. 18 Middle School, located in Jiangbei District, Chongqing, is one of the first key middle schools in Sichuan Province, one of the first key middle schools after Chongqing was directly under the Central Government, an advanced collective in the national education system, one of the top 100 middle schools in China, a school with the qualification of "real name recommendation system for middle school principals" of Peking University, and a school with the qualification of "new century leading plan" of Tsinghua University.
The school was founded in March 1949. Its predecessor was the private Xinsheng Middle School, which was founded by Ke Huang, Xiao Yimo and others on the board of directors and located at Xiangguo Temple (now Liyuchi) in Jiangbei. In November 1952, Xinsheng Middle School was renamed as Chongqing No. 18 Junior Middle School. In 1958, the school was renamed "Chongqing No. 18 Middle School".
Chongqing No. 18 Middle School has three campuses: Guanyinqiao Campus, Tieshanping Campus and Yulong Tianfeng Campus. Guanyinqiao Campus is adjacent to Guanyinqiao Business District, covering an area of 54 mu; Tieshanping Campus is located at the entrance of Tieshanping Forest Park (next to the bus stop of women's vocational school), covering an area of 300 mu; Yulong Tianfeng Campus is located on Beibin 1st Road (next to Yulong Tianfeng Community). The school has 112 classes (including international classes), more than 6000 students and 415 teaching staff. The school implements the integrated management of "six unifications" for the three campuses.
