Chongqing Datianwan Primary School, formerly known as Shangqingsi Street Central School, Yuzhong District, Chongqing, was founded in 1944. In 1951, it was renamed Datianwan Primary School in the first district of Chongqing. Later, it was renamed Shizhong District, and Shizhong District was renamed Yuzhong District. In 1960 and 1978, Teyuan Primary School and Jialing Primary School cancelled the merger of some classes to the school, and in 2001, the merger of Guiyuan Primary School and Guiyuan Primary School was cancelled, so the school expanded and rebuilt the campus.

Datianwan Primary School is located on the bank of Jialing River, next to the center of Chongqing Datianwan Sports Ground, and is the only primary school in Guiyuan District. Since 1979, the school has carried out small football activities for more than 20 years. In August 1987, the Chongqing Municipal Government set up a monument for the school to commemorate the "cultivation of sports talents to win honor for the country". In November 2000, the National Key Cities Evaluation and Inspection Team of the Chinese Football Association reviewed the school's football work and praised it. After Chongqing was directly under the central government, the school became one of the first batch of traditional sports schools in Chongqing.
