Shudu was conceived and established in Chongqing during the Anti Japanese War in 1943. In the second semester of 1944, the school officially opened. At that time, there were primary school, junior high school, senior high school and college advanced classes. Shudu Primary School was originally the primary school affiliated to Shudu Middle School, namely the primary school department. It was opened in the spring of 1948. At the beginning of its establishment, there were 150 students and 10 teachers. It was closed in 1950. In 1989, it resumed running a school in Xiaoyuan, Jiangbei District, Chongqing, called "South District Primary School", and changed its name to "Shudu Primary School" in 1990.
