Introduction to Chongqing Tsinghua Middle School
Chongqing Tsinghua Middle School originated from Tsinghua University and was founded in 1938. Since the organizers and main teachers are alumni of Tsinghua University, the school was named Chongqing Tsinghua Middle School with the consent of Tsinghua University's administrative authority and alumni association, and the first president, Mr. Fu Rengan, was also appointed by Mr. Mei Yiqi, the president of Tsinghua University. After liberation, the school was taken over by the government and renamed as "Chongqing No. 9 Middle School". In 1984, the name of "Chongqing Tsinghua Middle School" was restored. Comrade Deng Yingchao, Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, personally wrote the name of the school. In 1982, the school was listed as one of the first batch of key middle schools in Sichuan Province. In 1999, it was recognized as one of the first batch of municipal key middle schools after Chongqing was directly under the Central Government. In 2000, it was rated as the "Best Civilized Unit in Chongqing". In 2006, it was approved as a "Sino foreign Cooperative School Running Project School" by the Ministry of Education. In 2007, it was approved as a "Chinese Language International Promotion Base School" by the Hanban and Chongqing Municipal Education Commission.
