Chongqing No.8 Middle School (Chongqing No.8 Middle School for short), formerly known as Shuren Middle School, was founded in 1938. It became one of the "three famous schools" in Chongqing after ten years of schooling. In 1952, it was taken over by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, changed to a public school, and renamed as "Chongqing No.8 Middle School". In September 1958, the school was renamed "Chongqing Normal College Affiliated Middle School". In June 1971, the school was renamed "Chongqing No. 8 Middle School".
